Day 3
At 6:45pm the power goes out but our spirits are
shining bright with God’s love.
We began our day back at Centro Escolar for our
ground breaking ceremony. In attendance were smiling children, a loyal staff, enthusiastic
workers and Las Manos de Dios! When the shovel pierced the ground the mission
manifests into tangible faith. SallyJo, Susan the clinic’s Doctor and Wayne all
spoke with great zeal, of the project ahead. While each member reflected on the
devotional, “always be grateful for the blessings we have as we also become blessings
to others.” With one song of gratitude the children provided the energy we
needed to meet our purpose. Putting in each person’s heart the need to serve
and labor with dedication. After a hard day’s work we all enjoyed a swim and a
delicious meal. After dinner the Tingles presented “Bueno” (good) bars, for those
who stood out as champions of dedication, in their work. The recipients of such an honor were Emily
Wirth; for her wonderful painting, Carl Wirth and Rick Zimmerman; for their
mechanical skills, and Stacy Yarwood; for her care of the children while doing
crafts. As a team we had the opportunity to celebrate each other’s success as
well as trials. This was a day filled with joy, gratitude, thanksgiving,
humility and a day filled with blessings.

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
