Heading Home...

Day 8

There are times in an individual’s life where they are motivated in an unexplained cause to action. Having no doubts, worries, thoughts, questions or need for justification. A passion that comes from the heart. A gentle whisper saying this is my way for you. A path planned so perfectly before they choose that first step.

Moments designed with just enough assurance to establish our faith. These moments maybe verified through acts of compassion, encouragement, tenderness, humility, empathy and most of all, love. As Kerrilynn and I look out our plane porthole we say our farewell to the children, Tingles and nation of Nicaragua. This 8 day voyage intimately shared amid 15 people. A team that before this time lived disengaged from one another. However, now share a common thread, our love for God and neighbor.

In his perfect wisdom God provided man with two hands. These instruments could touch, carry, heal, greet, build, catch, pray, help and be evidence for love. He gave an example to us in Jesus to share with the world. With God as our center joined with you we can expand that hope. A continued extension, of Las Manos de Dios. We thank you all for all the prayers and encouragement. This has been an amazing trip. God bless.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

Fun Day!

Day 7

The word fun is defined a enjoyment, amusement, or light-hearted pleasure. Today was certainly filled with all three. We began our morning with breakfast and devotional. As we jumped into our 20 passenger van, we knew this day was going to be a treat. The first stop was a zip line course where Chuck inherited the nickname, Papa. We then ate lunch at Tip Top a local Nicaraguan fried chicken spot. Once our bellies were full we ventured off to see an active volcano. There we saw Eric Jerabek, Lift High the Cross. The scene was breathtaking! The opportunity to bargain with the locals the Nicaraguan way made for some very satisfied customers. Closing the day we were surprised by the Tingles with an amazing banquet back at Centro Escolar. The decorations, company, reminiscing about our trip and breaking bread one last time was unforgettable. This day was a gift for all of us because it allowed time to enjoy one another’s company. To show our growth in relationships with one another, spiritual maturity, gifts, acceptance of differences and becoming a family.
Bendiciones,
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. -1 John 4:7
