Day
5
Today’s
activities focused around Jesus’ love for all of us. This has been an amazing
journey and each day has provided endless opportunities for us to show our love
for one another by following Jesus’ example.
Jesus a friend…
Sean
and Pat spent their day in the trenches working alongside Antonio and Juan,
(aka) “El Animal.” They used humor in breaking through the language barriers to
build a bond with the workers.
Jesus a
Counselor…
When
Alicia, the Centro Escolar English teacher found out that Carl had helped with
Wayne’s vehicle, she approached him for assistance. Carl went above and beyond
the call of duty by advising her about the care and maintains needed, to keep
her vehicle operating.
Jesus a Teacher…
Emily
spent part of her afternoon working with students of Centro Escolar. The light
of Jesus shone through as she taught the students a song using cups as instruments.
Jesus a
Caregiver and Healer…
David
took on the roll of Doctor today as he applied bandaging and band-aids to
blistering hands from the previous day. He also gave us words of encouragement
throughout the day.
Jesus the Leader…
Sally
Jo, Dolores and Courtney lead the children in a sing-a-long of “Yes, Jesus
Loves Me.” This song (both in English and Spanish) could be heard throughout
the campus, as Carl & Gerald were whistling the tune while working on
Alicia’s car.
Jesus a Giver…
Today
Wayne, Megan and the people of Centro Escolar received a generous donation from
one of God’s servants. This act of kindness allowed them to purchase a working
lawnmower, tools, and equipment necessary, for Gerald to organize the warehouse.
All
of these are examples of how Jesus tells us to live according to his word. When
combined they deliver God’s true message. That love is and always should be the
motivator for what we do.
