Day 5: Back to Palcila, Art, Lighting, and a Massive Table!.

Good evening, all!  Today was busy and productive, as all of them have been so far.  Once again, we split up into groups that were going different directions.  One of our groups went to the school, another went to Palcila to provide the nutrition program for only the second time ever! The third went to Enrich Missions to provide a woodworking class and work on the wood shop itself.

Breakfast.

Jon giving the morning devotional message. Maybe it's a coincidence that his head has wings. Maybe it isn't...

School visits and working on art projects. The projects included Thank You cards which will be sent to those who helped support our team and helped make this mission possible.

Getting the stove fired up to make food for the children of Palcila.

Playing some baseball while the food is cooking.

Word must've gotten around after Tuesday's initial visit. Over 80 kids today!

Palcila, like most of Nicaragua, is beautiful!

Gwen participated in the kid's jiu-jitsu class.

Lunch.

Kid's woodworking class.

These are their shelves they built which are secured in clamps while the glue dries.

The road was closed for maintenance, so we had to haul supplies down this sketchy trail by hand.

At least one person in the group reads directions!

That is one massive table! Wayne danced a jig on it to ensure it's sturdiness. You know, for the children's safety.

Shelves, lighting, and massive table that weren't here when we arrived!

Gwen having a moment in the rain.

Back up the sketchy trail...

Ice cream!

Dinner.

Evening debriefing.

Todd and Amy were the recipients of the Bueno bars for their outstanding leadership and planning that went into this trip. Thank you, Todd and Amy.

Today was our last work day here. Tomorrow is a fun day before we all head home on Saturday.  We are going to a coffee plantation and doing some other sightseeing.  Then heading to Managua in the afternoon, where we will be spending the night to catch an early flight Saturday.  I will continue to post daily updates, but tomorrow will be different! Buenos noches, Amigos!
